Meet Captain Alberto – Team Hard Life

First Friday Fishing is guided by Captain Alberto, the heart behind Team Hard Life and Hard Life’s Bait & Tackle in Corpus Christi, Texas. He’s known for teaching practical land-based and surf fishing, empowering anglers of every level while building a welcoming community around education, respect for the water, and ethical fishing.

Through his YouTube channel and social media presence, he shares years of hands-on knowledge—everything from shark fishing techniques to gear rigging—while giving back to veterans, first responders, and families through community events like First Friday Fishing.

About This Event

Join Redford Ranch Foundation and Doug G. for a hosted morning dove hunt in Portland, Texas. This free event is open to veterans, first responders, and their immediate family members ages 13 and up.

Dates & Schedule

  • Group 1: Friday, December 12, 2025
  • Group 2: Saturday, December 13, 2025
  • Arrival: 6:15 AM (0615) – Portland, TX
  • Hunt: Morning dove hunt with lunch provided after

What We Provide

  • Ammo for the hunt
  • Lunch
  • Guided morning hunt

What You Need to Bring

  • Your own shotgun
  • Valid Texas hunting license
  • Chair (if you have one)
  • Cooler with ice for taking meat home

Who Can Apply

This event is open to:

  • U.S. military veterans
  • First responders (law enforcement, fire, EMS, etc.)
  • Immediate family members of the above, ages 13 and up

All ability levels are welcome. Please let us know about any physical limitations on the application form so we can accommodate you safely.

Selection Process

This is not first-come, first-served. We will review all applications and notify selected participants by email and/or text. The exact address will only be sent to confirmed participants.
